The CF-640 CompactFlash Interface allows your MSX to use CompactFlash cards as a mass storage device. The card operates in IDE mode. It is functionally very similar to our IDE-620, but replaces the 40-pin IDC connector with a CompactFlash socket.
The CF-640 is compatible with the Sunrise IDE standard and works with both the Sunrise IDE BIOS and the Nextor kernel.
It is compatible with all MSX models. A minimum of 128 KB of RAM is required to run MSX-DOS 2. The Nextor kernel can also operate in MSX-DOS 1 mode on systems with at least 64 KB of RAM.
For the best experience, we recommend using the CF-640 with 128 KB of RAM or more.
For MSX1, MSX2, MSX2+ and TurboR
100% compatible Sunrise standard
Runs Nextor DOS. Supports FAT16 partitions (MSXDOS2 mode)
x1 Compact Flash slot
Translucent cartridge case
Attention: Needs at least 128k RAM to run in MSXDOS2 mode
