The MT32-Pi is a Raspberry Pi-based emulator of the classic Roland MT-32 sound module from the 1980s. It can operate as a standard MT-32 or use SoundFonts as alternative sound banks.
The unit consists of a HAT board that plugs into the Raspberry Pi GPIO header, providing MIDI input and output, audio output, an OLED display, and physical control buttons. The Raspberry Pi runs a bare-metal MT-32 emulatordirectly from the SD card.
It connects via a standard 5-pin DIN MIDI connector and can be used with PCs, Amiga, Atari ST, and other MIDI-compatible devices, including keyboards, synthesizers, and sequencers. Many classic games from the 1980s and 1990ssupport the MT-32, including titles from Sierra, LucasArts, and many others such as Doom.
The MT32-Pi is fully compatible with our MiSS FPGA systems running Amiga, Atari ST, and PC cores, and can also be used with our SX-2 MSX FPGA with a custom adapter cable.
The unit is supplied fully assembled, including a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W.
